2026-2027 Book Access/Restriction Form

Dear Parent/Guardian:
The Cameron R-1 School District recognizes the essential role of parental involvement in students' education. In order to address concerns regarding book content and provide parents with a choice regarding their child's reading options, we ask that you please review this Book Access/Restriction Form which has been updated for the 2026-2027 school year. This form enables parents to control their child's access to books made available to students in their respective buildings. Please review the form and select the options that best meet the needs of your family. If you choose to not complete this form, your non-response will be interpreted as a vote for restricted access for your child.
Each school library's book inventory can be reviewed on the individual school's Destiny website, which is linked below. Students attempting to check out books restricted by their parents/guardians will be denied access until such time as parent/guardian permission is obtained. This access/restriction form will remain in effect until the first day of school of the following school year.
Please note that a separate form must be completed for each child in your family attending Cameron R-1 Schools and should only be completed by a parent/guardian with educational rights to the child. Please direct all questions regarding this form to your child's building principal.
